There will be a new president in the White House this week, and the winner will have a huge impact on the cryptocurrency landscape in the United States for the next few years.

“Regardless of who wins, we will see increased volatility in the coming days,” market analysts say.

Post-Election Boost or Bust?

Capriole Fund founder Charles Edwards opined that he doesn’t think there will be a big drop if Kamala Harris wins.

“There will be an initial shock, a Trump unwind, volume trading, and a bump within our current range,” he said, before adding that there have been eight months of consolidation, bullish ETFs, and a lot of selling pressure.

“The market is currently pricing in an Election Day squeeze. Who will sell after the post-election unwind?”

Meanwhile, analyst Miles Deutscher said that “it feels like the market is afraid of a Kamala win and is reducing risk ahead of the election.” He added that markets hate uncertainty, and a 50/50 race is exactly that.

“If Trump wins, I think that risk reduction will strengthen the bull case and weaken the (Kamala) bear case.”

Some crypto analysts believe that there is a “high probability” that BTC prices will move “at least 10% in either direction depending on who wins the election this week.” This could lead to a drop below $60,000 or a rise to a new all-time high.

Investor and tech entrepreneur Mike Alfred, in turn, noted that in every previous cycle, Bitcoin has hit a low price during the week of the US election, and since then, the price has not returned to its previous values.

“This week will literally be the last day you can buy Bitcoin under $70,000.”
