Bitcoin (BTC) may experience significant price growth, increasing by 87% from its current levels. This opinion was expressed by Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Asset Research at VanEck.

In an interview dedicated to David Lin's report, Sigel stated that Bitcoin could follow historical patterns observed in previous four-year halving cycles. If this scenario unfolds, BTC has the potential to grow by approximately 87% in the near future.

At the same time, he notes that each successive cycle has brought a smaller percentage increase. However, Sigel believes that a 1000% price increase from the low to the peak remains possible. Within this forecast, he names a target level of around $180,000, assuming that the cycle peak could be reached in the fourth quarter of this year.

"Our base scenario suggests that each new Bitcoin cycle demonstrates a more modest return. The weakest of the previous cycles saw a 2000% increase from the bottom to the peak. If we assume that the current cycle will yield a 1000% growth, this would lead to a level of approximately $180,000," the expert explained.

Sigel also compares Bitcoin to gold in the medium term. According to him, if BTC can capture at least half of the speculative gold market, its price could reach $450,000. However, this would only be possible if Bitcoin is widely recognized as a global reserve asset and a store of value.

Additionally, Sigel expressed confidence that Jack Dorsey, former CEO of Twitter and a well-known Bitcoin advocate, is the creator of the cryptocurrency under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.

"For full transparency and intellectual honesty, I would like to share my firm belief: I am personally convinced that Jack Dorsey – CEO of Square and founder of X – is the creator of Bitcoin, known as Satoshi Nakamoto. That is my opinion," Sigel stated.

His claim is based on the work of Sean Murray, editor-in-chief of deCashed, who has presented several arguments linking Dorsey to the creation of Bitcoin.
